The heel carries the code 22 L 50. The large L identifies Laurens Glass Works, a major South Carolina soda-bottle manufacturer, while the 50 date code identifies this example as 1950 production. This bottle belongs to Coca-Cola's D-105529 contour-bottle period and retains the classic six-ounce hobbleskirt form that became one of the most recognizable packages in American advertising history. Its Charleston town-name base gives the bottle additional regional appeal for collectors of South Carolina Coca-Cola material, Charleston memorabilia, Southern advertising and locality-marked soda bottles. The aqua-green glass has excellent display character, with strong embossed lettering, visible glass texture and the substantial molded form associated with returnable Coca-Cola bottles of the period. Condition is consistent with an authentic commercial returnable bottle from 1950, including scattered scratches, case wear, surface marks, light haze or residue and manufacturing irregularities. No obvious major chips or cracks are apparent in the photographs reviewed. Please examine all photographs closely once added, as they form part of the condition description. A strong town-name Coca-Cola collectible with crossover appeal for Charleston collectors, South Carolina bottle collectors, Coca-Cola advertising collectors and vintage soda-bottle displays. 1950 Coca-Cola bottle, Charleston South Carolina Coke bottle, Charleston SC bottle, Coca-Cola hobbleskirt, town name Coke bottle, Laurens Glass Works, D-105529 bottle, embossed Coca-Cola bottle, aqua Coke bottle, six ounce Coca-Cola, South Carolina Coca-Cola, vintage soda bottle, Coca-Cola advertising.
