Vintage Pabst Andeker Lighted Beer Sign

The details

Vintage Pabst Andeker Lighted Beer Sign – Working Embosograph Breweriana Advertising Display – “The Beer Supreme” A striking original vintage Pabst Andeker of America illuminated beer advertising sign, produced by Embosograph Display Mfg. Co. of Chicago and dating to approximately the late 1960s to early 1970s. This is not a simple flat plastic beer sign. It is a substantial dimensional advertising display with a deeply molded decorative frame, raised grain and hop motifs, a three-dimensional Andeker beer bottle, illuminated branding, and a dramatic recessed red bottle compartment that glows when lit. The upper crest reads “Pabst Since 1844,” while the center carries the distinctive Andeker of America branding associated with Pabst’s premium beer line and its period slogan: “The Beer Supreme.” The sign was manufactured by Embosograph Display Mfg. Co., Chicago, Illinois 60614, whose original manufacturer label remains intact on the reverse. The rear label also retains the original electrical instructions calling for 7C7 lamps, maximum 125V AC, along with Code No. A-1-D. The lighting produces a particularly impressive display in a dimly lit room or bar setting. The red illumination behind the Andeker bottle, combined with the glowing lettering and upper Pabst crest, gives this piece considerably more visual presence than a standard non-lighted beer advertising sign. CONDITION Very good vintage condition with authentic age and use consistent with an original commercial advertising piece. There is expected surface wear, minor finish loss, aging to portions of the bottle label and neck treatment, light scratches, marks and general patina from decades of display and storage. The molded decorative frame, dimensional bottle, lettering and advertising graphics remain highly presentable. The wear has not been artificially restored or disguised, preserving the honest character collectors generally want in original vintage breweriana. Please review all photographs carefully, as they are considered part of the description and provide the best representation of cosmetic condition. COLLECTOR APPEAL Andeker advertising is encountered considerably less often than standard Pabst Blue Ribbon advertising, particularly in elaborate illuminated dimensional displays such as this example. Its combination of: Pabst branding Andeker advertising Embosograph manufacture working illumination three-dimensional bottle display original manufacturer identification and ornate period design makes it an especially appealing piece for a serious vintage beer advertising or breweriana collection.
