The details
A glowing piece of American industrial history — this antique H.C.CO aqua glass beehive insulator carried telegraph signals across the country before electricity became commonplace. Today it's a prized collectible among insulator enthusiasts and a stunning display piece in industrial, farmhouse, and steampunk-styled spaces. Embossed "H.C. CO" on the dome, this is an early mark associated with the Hemingray Glass Company lineage. The CD 145 designation places it within the established Consolidated Design classification system used by insulator collectors worldwide. The embossing on this example is appealing to serious collectors. The thick aqua glass features scattered internal bubbles and swirls throughout — characteristic of early American glass production and highly prized by collectors as evidence of age and hand-production technique. No chips or cracks noted. Approximately 3.5 inches tall by 2.75 inches wide. Display it solo on a windowsill to catch natural light, pair it with other insulators in a collection grouping, or use it as a bold focal point in an industrial or farmhouse vignette. Makes an excellent gift for history buffs, glass collectors, and anyone fascinated by the material culture of the telegraph era. Specs: Maker mark: H.C.
