The details
Antique Ball Triple-L Mason jar in aqua blue glass — one of the most distinctively scripted and sought-after of all early Ball jar variants. The Triple-L (also written 3-L or Triple L) designation refers to the three-loop cursive Ball script used on these jars, a script style that preceded and overlapped with the more common script forms collectors know from later production. This looping style is among the features that make early Ball jars immediately identifiable by knowledgeable collectors. This quart-size example dates to circa 1900–1910 and displays the characteristic aqua blue color from iron in the glass batch — a soft, warm blue distinct from the cooler aqua of mid-century production. Natural air bubbles are visible in the glass wall, consistent with early American glass manufacture and a marker of authentic period production. The milk glass lid liner is present, adding to the completeness of this find. The embossing is clear and well-defined throughout. No chips or cracks. Glass is intact. An honest, unaltered example in very good condition for its age. A proven market exists for this jar — the Triple-L form is consistently sought by Ball jar collectors pursuing early script variants, complete mold sets, or documented examples of pre-WWI American glasswork.
