The details

Original vintage Stanley No. 750 bevel-edge socket chisel in the desirable 1-1/2-inch width, clearly stamped: STANLEY NO. 750 MADE IN U.S.A. The Stanley No. 750 is one of the classic American socket-chisel patterns and remains highly regarded by traditional woodworkers, cabinetmakers, and vintage Stanley tool collectors. The broad 1-1/2” cutting width is less commonly encountered than the smaller sizes and gives this example strong collector and working-tool appeal. This chisel retains substantial blade length and its original forged socket construction. It is being offered without a wooden handle, allowing the next owner to preserve it as found or fit a traditional replacement socket handle for use. Details * Maker: Stanley * Model: No. 750 * Country of manufacture: USA * Type: Bevel-edge socket chisel * Cutting width: Approx. 1-1/2” * Steel body length: Approx. 6” * Construction: Forged steel blade with integral socket * Handle: Not included * Marked: STANLEY / NO. 750 / MADE IN U.S.A. Condition Authentic vintage condition with age-appropriate wear from decades of workshop use. The steel shows oxidation, darkened patina, staining, scratches, surface pitting, and small remnants of old paint or workshop residue. The socket remains intact and the factory Stanley markings are clearly legible. The cutting edge has not been freshly sharpened and should be honed before working use. No wooden handle is present. This piece has not been aggressively polished, wire-wheeled, belt-sanded, or refinished. Its aged surface and original markings have been intentionally preserved for the collector who prefers an honest vintage tool rather than an over-restored example. Please review all photographs carefully, including measurement and close-up images, as they form part of the condition description. A strong addition to a Stanley tool collection, cabinetmaker’s chest, traditional woodworking shop, vintage hand-tool display, or working chisel set. Original Stanley. Sold exactly as photographed.
