Lot of three antique cobalt blue apothecary and pharmacy bottles, including an embossed Phillips Milk of Magnesia bottle (Chas. H. Phillips Chemical Co., Glenside, Conn.) alongside two larger cobalt pharmacy bottles in deep sapphire blue glass. A striking matched display grouping.
Cobalt blue glass was historically used by pharmacies to protect light-sensitive contents while providing an attractive counter presence. Original antique pharmacy glass in this color remains highly sought by bottle collectors, apothecary display enthusiasts, and interior designers working with farmhouse, primitive, and mercantile aesthetics. This three-bottle lot creates an immediate shelf or cabinet centerpiece.
The Phillips bottle retains crisp embossing reading Milk of Magnesia – The Chas. H. Phillips Chemical Co., Glenside, Conn. The two companion bottles are larger in scale, creating visual depth in a display grouping. All three are original antique examples.
