Prehistoric Native American copper artifacts from the Old Copper Culture (ca. 3000–1000 BCE). Housed in a vintage Riker case with original 1931–1932 provenance labels. Includes celt, spear point, and tool fragments with untouched patina.

This is an authentic framed collection of prehistoric Native American copper artifacts, attributed to the Old Copper Culture (Late Archaic, ca. 3000–1000 BCE). These early metalworkers of the Great Lakes region (Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois) hammered tools and weapons from naturally occurring native copper long before European contact.

The collection includes:
• Celt fragment – from a prehistoric axe/adze head (“1 celt – copper ruins 1931”).
• Spear point fragments – hammered copper point remains (“Spear point center, Deely ruins”).
• Arrow point/tool fragments – smaller irregular pieces labeled “14 arrow points, flying G.”
• Ring-like preforms/blades – hammered copper blanks likely intended for finishing into points or ornaments.

All artifacts are displayed in a classic Riker specimen case, assembled in the early 20th century with handwritten provenance labels dated 1931–1932, referencing Perkins Ranch, Agua Fria, and Deely ruins.

Condition: Fragmentary but stable, with natural archaeological patina. Case shows expected age. No cleaning or restoration has been attempted — all surfaces remain original.

Why it matters:
• Historical significance – among the earliest known metal artifacts in North America.
• Provenance – rare 1930s handwritten notes that document early collection history.
• Collectibility – framed, labeled groups like this rarely appear, and they appeal to serious collectors of Native American artifacts, archaeology, and early metallurgy.

Comparable framed collections with documented provenance have brought $3,000–$5,000 at major auction houses when competition is strong.

⚖️ In short: This is a museum-quality archaeological display, combining Old Copper Culture artifacts, early provenance (1931–1932), and a vintage Riker case. A rare opportunity for collectors of prehistoric copper, Native American history, and archaeology.
