The design — hand-decorated blue sponge trees on cream-colored stoneware — became the standard of the American farmhouse kitchen for two generations. These are the au gratin or individual baking dishes, mold #265 — deep oval dishes sized for single-serve casseroles, gratins, or vegetable roasting, and among the most used and therefore most difficult to find without glaze wear or utensil scratching.
