Beautiful antique Ball Ideal aqua blue wire bail mason jar with strong, deep embossing and the desirable “PAT’D JULY 14, 1908” marking. A classic early American fruit jar that displays beautifully and remains one of the most sought-after pieces among Ball jar collectors and farmhouse decor enthusiasts.
Professionally packed for fragile shipment. Ships next business day. Full refund if damaged in transit.
This quart-size example features crisp, deeply struck “Ball Ideal” embossing, excellent clarity, and a rich aqua blue glass tone that shows especially well in natural light. The jar retains its original wire bail closure and matching glass lid, giving it the authentic appearance collectors prefer. Many Ideal jars lose their correct lid over time, so finding a clean example with its proper closure assembly is increasingly uncommon.
The Ball Ideal series was produced beginning in the mid-1910s using the earlier 1908 patent design and remained one of Ball’s most recognizable fruit jars. Based on the script style, glass characteristics, and production traits, this example most likely dates to the 1920s–1930s era from the Ball factories in Muncie, Indiana. The strong embossing and balanced aqua color make it particularly appealing for both collectors and decorative display.
These jars have become increasingly popular for farmhouse kitchens, primitive decor, pantry storage, wedding centerpieces, and vintage glass collections. The clean profile, classic wire bail design, and distinctive aqua glass color make it a standout piece whether displayed alone or grouped with other early fruit jars.
