Antique German beer stein by Marzi & Remy, Höhr (Westerwald) — the "Prosit" design, registered 1902. Marzi & Remy was one of the leading Westerwald relief-stoneware manufacturers operating from the 19th century through the mid-20th century, and their marked pieces command consistent collector demand. The Höhr (Grenzhausen) production region is considered the heartland of German stoneware, and Marzi & Remy are among its finest documented makers.
The "Prosit" motif — a traditional German drinking toast — is rendered in clean relief decoration on the gray-blue salt glaze body. The stein carries a hinged pewter lid in working condition. The base carries the Marzi & Remy factory mark and the 1902 design registration number. A documented, marked, datable piece from a named maker — exactly the combination that serious stein collectors seek.
