Authentic antique Ball Ideal aqua glass wire bail canning jar with original glass lid, dating to the early 1900s. Professionally packed for fragile shipment. Ships next business day. Full refund if damaged in transit.
This classic American pantry jar features the iconic script Ball logo with underline above the bold “IDEAL” embossing and displays the rich blue-aqua glass color collectors associate with early Ball production.
The Ideal series was produced before screw-band lids became standard, using a hinged wire bail closure and thick glass lid that clamped down over a rubber gasket to seal home-canned foods.
This example is the desirable half-gallon size, which shows the embossing and color beautifully and makes an excellent piece for farmhouse kitchen décor, primitive pantry display, or vintage glass collections.
The jar retains its original style glass lid and wire bail hardware. The glass shows the subtle waviness and character typical of early 20th-century jars. Condition is very good for its age with no cracks observed; the bail hardware shows expected oxidation and the glass has light interior haze and minor wear consistent with long use.
The base carries a mold number (“6”), a standard factory mark used during production.
A strong decorative and collectible example of early Ball canning history that works equally well as authentic kitchen storage or rustic farmhouse décor.
Approximate size: Half gallon, about 10 inches tall.
Era: Early 1900s (circa 1908–1923).
Maker: Ball.
Closure: Wire bail with glass lid.
Color: Aqua blue glass.
Condition: Very good antique condition with light wear consistent with age.
