A rare antique glass insulator in ice blue — the Whitall Tatum Co. No. 1, a late 19th century American telephone and telegraph insulator in one of the most difficult colors to find. Ice blue examples consistently command premiums in the collector market, and this one presents in excellent condition with no cracks, chips, or drilled holes.

Whitall Tatum Co. operated out of Millville, New Jersey and was one of the premier American glass houses of the late 1800s. Their insulators are well-documented in the CD (Consolidated Design) numbering system used by insulator collectors. This piece displays beautifully on a windowsill or shelf where the color shifts with the light.
