A second example of the Hemingray petticoat-style insulator, embossed HEMINGRAY PATENT MAY 2 1893 — a style far less commonly found than the standard Hemingray dome tops. The aqua glass is original to the melt, with the gentle blue-green tone typical of Hemingray's factory production during the patent period. The petticoat profile includes a distinctive extended inner skirt that made this design effective for high-tension wire insulation. Priced individually as the second of two available examples.
More from our antique glass insulator collection: the Hemingray petticoat Patent May 2 1893 — matched pair, the H.G. Co. green petticoat Patent May 2 1893, and the H.G. Co. petticoat — aqua green variant.
