Authentic vintage straight-line MASON quart fruit jar in clear glass, paired with a marked Ball No. 10 glass top-seal insert and metal screw band. The body is boldly embossed MASON in a single straight line across the front. Based on the lettering, quart capacity, smooth finished lip, and beaded-neck sealing surface, the jar is consistent with Red Book No. 1641: MASON in a straight line, smooth lip, Mason beaded-neck seal, clear quart.

The understated single-word embossing is part of what makes this style appealing. Rather than carrying the familiar Ball, Atlas, or Kerr branding, the jar presents a clean utilitarian design that reflects the practical fruit jars produced for everyday household canning and storage.

The closure includes a clear glass insert embossed in Ball script and marked No. 10, seated inside an age-darkened metal screw band. This style is commonly identified as a Ball No. 10 glass top-seal closure. The glass insert rests over the mouth of the jar while the threaded metal band holds it in position.

Because antique jar lids, inserts, bands, and rubber rings were removable and frequently interchanged, the Ball No. 10 closure is described as a period-compatible closure rather than guaranteed original to this exact MASON jar body. The removable rubber sealing ring that would originally have completed the sealing system is not included.

The clear glass retains the character expected from vintage utility glass, including subtle waviness, small bubbles, mold lines, and minor manufacturing irregularities. These are part of the jar’s original production and are not modern damage.
